Yvonne Eve Walus
Doctor of Mathematics. A wife and a mother. Most of all though - a writer (in several languages), and for this writer, a true friend.
Yvonne lives in New Zealand...which puts her at a great disadvantage right off the bat even in this Internet age. But that doesn't stop her from having a successful writing career. From poetry, to short stories about dragons, to her wildly popular novel, Murder @ Work, this versatile author is well-respected by her readers and her peers.
Is there anything Yvonne Eve Walus can't accomplished? Not in my book! When she was told that my young reader series, Cynthia's Attic, wasn't available to libraries in New Zealand, she fired off an e-mail to me. Between Yvonne and my publisher, Karen Syed, "The Missing Locket" and "The Magic Medallion" are on their way to Yvonne's library. Most of us would've just shrugged and said, "Oh well. I tried." But she wouldn't take "NO" for an answer.
And herein lies the reason her books and short stories are such great sellers in this competitive business. She simply crashes through any and all stumbling blocks. We can all take a page from Ms. Walus's book.
Looking for a great mystery? Look no further.

This is a great story. When writers support each other like that, it's a win-win situation.
I LOVE her attitude!!!
And I'm sorry it's taken this long, but I've finally linked your blog (not just the web page).
Thanks for being patient with me.
:-)
Hey, no problem, CL! Thanks for ALL your great comments!
ROFL, my husband said it was an amazingly astute description of me: "crashes through any and all stumbling blocks." I guess he sometimes experiences it first-hand....
Mary, thank you. Your words are a wonderful Christmas present and I will always treasure them.
It's strange, Yvonne, that even though we live thousands of miles apart, I feel like I know you!
My comments were heartfelt and well-deserved.
Have a wonderful Christmas and a great New year!
That is a great story. It is so nice how we can create a small community across a huge world. Yvonne, your book looks great! I look forward to reading it.
Mary, Thank you so much for Cynthia's Attic III. It arrived today. I really appreciate it & it's going on my night table for this evening's read. You are the best!
Thanks for the nice comment, Writerkat! Yvonne and I are with the same publisher and, when I was first published, she never failed to answer "newbie" questions.
Hope you enjoy COTB! Let me know.
Have a wonderful Christmas & New Year, WK!
Great story, Mary and Yvonne. You're right, Church Lady, it's all about support and networking.

Sounds like a great read Yvonne. Mary C. is very supportive of other writers, I know this first hand. She goes out of her way to validate others' talents. I hope she knows how much that's appreciated.
Aw...shucks, AD. Thanks. It's a fun job when I'm surrounded by such creative writers!
Mary -
That was an inspiring story! How wonderful and it is true - I've never seen such a "team atmosphere" in the business world. But in this genre, I feel like we are all rooting for each other. What a blessing.
Ah, and I got a little surprise from our UPS guy yesterday. I'm on chapter four right now! I love it. Thank you so much, what a wonderful gift.
