Choose A Character For Cynthia's Attic: Book Five!

Want to choose a character to be in the next Cynthia's Attic book? Here's how!

Listed below are 10 Cynthia's Attic characters I'm considering for a recurring role in Book Five. Leave a comment with your choice and an explanation as to why you think the character deserves to return. I'll choose one winner based on the most compelling reason.

What do you win? First is the Cynthia's Attic book of your choice. You can wait for Book Five (title coming soon!) or you can choose one of the first four titles. Now for the really fun part. If your character and comment is chosen, you'll also become a character in the book!

Choose one:

*Louis - 10-year-old ghost - The Missing Locket

*Aunt Belle - Cynthia's great-aunt - The Missing Locket

*Blackie - The evil clown - The Magic Medallion

*Jake - Cave guide and Gus's dad - The Magic Medallion

*Gabriella - The fortuneteller - The Magic Medallion & Curse of the Bayou

*Jasmine Boudreau - Mudbug's mother - Curse of the Bayou

*Samantha Connor - Cynthia's excitable great-grandmother - Curse of the Bayou

*Linus Carson - the unscrupulous antiques dealer - The Magician's Castle

*Kathryn - Sebastian's fiancée and assistant - The Magician's Castle

*Molly - The dog that helps 'dig up clues' - The Magician's Castle

You have until August 31, then I'm on my own! So, let me know your choice and why! I have to start writing!!

Great contest!

I have to go with Aunt Belle. She's one of my favorites and I really liked the way she told stories to Cynthia and Gus.

Hope you pick her.

That was my first thought - Aunt Belle because I've only read the first two books and it's been so long ago and so much has happened that I don't remember any other characters really. Since you are kind of on the paranormal kid's mysteries - I'd even say Louis the ghost - that helps keep it on that side of things - guess I don't have much of a compelling reason to select any recurring characters - good luck - E ;)

Great idea Mary! Well I love ghosts and I love dogs... so I'm gonna vote for both!

Thanks, Anonymous, elysabeth and chris.

Aunt Belle seems to be one of the favorites, and I'm really partial to Louis.

Also have to agree with you, Chris. Molly is a personal favorite for many reasons.

Thanks for the comments. Keep 'em coming!

Are you kidding me? Of course Molly! What's a book without a dog in it? Ha!

Couldn't have said it better, Mayra! Molly, of course, but I don't want to influence other readers! LOL!

Woof! Woof! (Molly, cool it down, they mustn't know YOU'RE sending this).
I think Molly would be a great choice. She's so pretty, so clever, so funny, so nice, so helpful... (Hum hum, Molly, what did I say?) Okay.
Well, to sum up, Molly.

PS: it'll be a great marketing move. Kids love dogs. (MOLLY!) Okay, I stop. Woof.

Molly would be a great choice, Veronika. You weren't influenced by anyone we know, were you? Molly for instance? heh-heh

I think she'd be great in the new book, too, after all she was the star of "The Magician's Castle!'

I'm voting for Louis and Blackie because I am in this overly excited about Halloween mode. But more than that, they are a lot of fun! Ghosts and Clowns, ghosts and clowns! I know I'm in the minority by not voting for dogs. This is the voice of your boy reader! Wink wink. Great contest, Mary!! Very excited for book 5.

Might know, D. M., you'd vote for that despicable Blackie! You're the first, but certainly expected from a "boy" readers. LOL!

Good choices! I'd lean toward Louis, but We'll see next week.

I'm making my selection on Monday!

I'm new to your books, Mary. I see we're both from the wonderful state of Georgia, which is full of old mysterious mansions.

From a writer's point of view I'd have to choose Louis. A ten-year-old ghost sends thousands of possibilities racing through my mind.
As a retired teacher, I'm sure I had a few ghosts named Louis in my classroom! LOL Good luck with your next book.

Hi Kathy! Yes, I saw that you live in N. Georgia. Beautiful area.

I'm very partial to Louis. His character came to me out of the blue and insisted on being in "The Missing Locket!" I'm so glad he did because he adds so much to the story.

Thanks for stopping by. I love your blog!

Woof! Mary...when will you post the results? The suspense is killing Moll...me! :P
Have a nice day,
Veronika

Sorry for the delay! I was offline for almost a week with modem problems! Arrrrrgh!

So, without further ado, the winner is...Veronika for her passionate plea for Molly!

I have a feeling Molly would approve too, Veronika since you described her as pretty, clever, funny, nice, etc. :)

Anyway, gotta get busy writing Molly's scenes along with the NEW character, Veronika!

I'll keep you posted. Thanks, everyone who participated on my blog, the Quake blog and facebook!
